At ConocoPhillips, I was part of a group called Emerging Technologies. The team was responsible for scouting the technology landscape for any hardware, software or other tech tools. We reviewed space, military and consumer products for connecting its function to be used in energy production equipment and administrative workflows. It was definitely exciting to explore all the latest gadgets. We were one of the first companies to test Google Glass and created an app for oil rig engineers to visually identify components and Glass would scan the parts for details to quickly make informed decisions. I also introduced a design system at a time when they were first being adopted in the field.
